HAVRE - A weekend camping trip turned tragic when a 3-year-old child died after being run over by a truck at a Havre camping site.

Authorities report that the accident happened at around 8 p.m. Saturday when a 23-year-old driver was backing out of his spot in the Kiwanis Camp Lodge parking lot and did not see the little boy behind his Dodge truck.

The toddler received fatal injuries to his head from the collision. The Montana Highway Patrol reports that the driver was not traveling too fast and was not drinking.
