This year's An Ri Ra Festival will feature a genealogy session called Finding your Ancestors from Ireland and Butte.

Sessions will be held on Friday and Saturday in which the Butte-Silver Bow Genealogy Society will teach you how to locate your ancestors. The demonstration will show you the resources that are out there for this purpose.

You'll learn about researching church and census records, passenger lists, using genealogy software and more. There's a limit of 100 people per session due to space and that's on a first come, first serve basis.

The genealogy society hopes those attending the sessions will find that it's a great experience.

"We hope that they have as much fun as we have had finding our family roots and finding people we never thought we would find and also making people aware that trips to Ireland are available now so go see where your ancestors walked," Julie Bushmaker of the Butte-Silver Bow Genealogy Society said.

Sessions are from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday at the Butte-Silver Bow Archives on Quartz Street.
