The Beaverhead County Health Department needs 500 volunteers for an emergency preparedness zombie exercise.
The health department is having a Drill of the Dead event at the National Guard Armory on Halloween. Almost $40,000 was given to the county for emergency preparedness this year.
The drill would simulate emergency response if a disaster like anthrax or small pox were released in the county. If that were to happen emergency responders would have to treat 270 people an hour to prevent serious illness or death.
Local city and government officials will meet the day before Halloween to take a more serious look at a communicable disease disaster.
