Bobcats discuss upcoming game against Griz

There's no doubt that Anthony Johnson is an impact player for the Montana basketball program, so when the Bobcats limited him to just eight points in the first edition of this year's Cat-Griz game, it was a huge reason for their 61 to 52 point win.

Not only did the Bobcats shut him down on total points, but Johnson only took nine shots.

His performances as of late, however, are completely different. Johnson is riding a 23 point average this second go-around with the Cats, hoping to shut that down in Dahlberg.

"One thing I would like to re-do is the job on Anthony Johnson.  I think we did a heck of a job holding him and limiting him to making good shots, making every shot he took difficult," Bobcats forward Cam Henderson said.

"He's played great this second half and all their supporting cast has played equally as well, so I think that's had a lot to do with their success, and you can't put all your emphasis on one guy. And whether it's post play or perimeter play, both have been really good since the second half of league," Bobcats head coach Brad Huse said.

The Grizzly men play host to the Bobcats this weekend. While Montana obviously lost to the Bobcats in Bozeman last month, head coach Wayne Tinkle will focus more this week on the Grizzlies' dominating performance most recently against Sacramento State.

Here's a look at the Big Sky standings for men's basketball:

Weber State 12-2

Northern Colorado 11-4

Montana 10-5

Montana State 9-6

Northern Arizona 7-8

Portland State 5-9

Eastern Washington 4-10

Idaho State 4-10

Sacramento State 3-11
