Bozeman Deputy Mayor Jeffrey Krauss has been appointed to the Board of Regents.

Pat Williams, a former U.S. representative and educator from Missoula, was also named to the board by Gov. Brian Schweitzer.

An announcement about Schweitzer's appointment notes that Krauss is the director of finance and administration for the Museum of the Rockies. He previously served as the elected Gallatin County Treasurer and a Bozeman City Commissioner; and served as the city's mayor until January 2012. He also worked as an accountant with King Tool Inc. and Deloitte and Touche (Reno, Nevada). He has served in leadership posts with the Montana County Treasurer's Association, Montana Conservation Corps, Bozeman Noon Rotary Club, Vigilante Theater and the Gallatin County Community Development Block Grant board.
Krauss has a B.S. in business administration from Montana State University, and received the A.L Strand award for a "non-traditional student showing concern for people through campus or community service and exemplifying leadership and scholastic achievement."

Williams spent 30 years as a classroom teacher and education administrator. He also served nine terms as a U.S. representative from Montana (1979-1997). Following his retirement from Congress, Williams taught at the University of Montana, and is an O'Connor Center Senior Fellow Emeritus. In congress, Williams was the chair of the post-secondary education committee. He has served in leadership capacities with the National Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges, the National Association of Job Corps, the Student Loan Marketing Association (Sallie Mae), and the President's Advisory Commission for Tribal Colleges.

Williams attended the University of Montana, William Jewell College and the University of Denver.
