Butte man admits to 7th DUI

A 60-year-old Butte man admitted to driving while under the influence of alcohol, his seventh DUI offense.

Jack Leon Sawyer appeared before District Judge Ray Dayton in Anaconda Wednesday morning and entered a guilty plea to felony DUI.

According to court documents, on Aug., 1, 2009 just after 5 p.m. police responded to a call of an intoxicated man driving.  The caller reported Sawyer almost backed into him.  Police say when they caught up with him on East Sixth Street the driver side door was open and Sawyer was slouched over the steering wheel. 

The judge ordered a presentence investigation.
