Chet Layman rejoins the Montana News Station family after an almost 13 year absence.
Chet was originally hired in 1989 to open a news bureau in Bozeman for KXLF. Over the next 10 years, Chet would work his way up the system to anchor, producer and eventually to news director. Chet also anchored sports "In the Zone" for KCTZ, which would, one day, become KBZK.
Chet returns as a part time reporter.
Telling stories and meeting people were always the best parts of Chet's early television career, and he's excited about returning as a reporter.
Chet continues to work with his wife as kindergarten teacher at their Belgrade child care center, and remains "The Voice of Belgrade High School Sports" as play-by-play announcer for the Panthers on KBOZ Radio.
In his free time you can find Chet coaching baseball, following his three children around their activities, backpacking around southwest Montana with his family, or just sitting on his front deck soaking in the sights and sounds of his Belgrade neighborhood.
Chet can be reached by email at clayman@kbzk.com.
