Crime suspected in discovery of human legs near Butte

Authorities believe a crime was committed involving the discovery of a pair of human legs north of Butte.

Butte-Silver Bow Law Enforcement is still investigating the incident.

The legs were found 2.8 miles from the Main and Daly street intersection on the Moulton Reservoir Road. They were reported to authorities on Tuesday around 5:45 p.m. Butte-Silver Bow responded to the scene and confirmed the body parts are the legs of an adult, white male.

They have since been sent to the Montana State Crime Lab for analysis.

Butte-Silver Bow Search and Rescue was on the scene Wednesday and have not returned to search further. Authorities say they believe there was a crime a committed.
