Montana Tech students had the opportunity to gain a little education at the Wellness Fair on Wednesday in the Copper Lounge.
Students who attended the fair were given safe dieting and exercise tips from local establishments such as the Butte YMCA, Fuel Fitness and Copper City Cross Fit. Students working toward their bachelor's degree in nursing were teaching fellow students about diabetes by doing blood sugar testing.
"The number of type 2 diabetes is rapidly growing so I think that it's important to educate everybody on the signs and symptoms to be mindful of to look out for," said Andrea Sarti, a nursing student at Montana Tech. "It's good to just kind of spot check your blood sugar to see where you're at."
Several businesses participating in the fair said there was an overwhelming turnout of students.
