On Sunday, two of the oldest people in the world passed away.

Mary Josephine Ray, the oldest woman in the U.S., died at the age of 114. Just five hours later, the fifth oldest person in the world, Daisey Bailey, also passed away. That means Great Falls' Walter Breuning isn't just the world's oldest man - he's now the seventh-oldest person alive today.

Walter credits his 113-plus years to eating right and staying active, adding that he tries to load up on fruits and vegetables and get in a little bit of exercise every day.

"I eat two meals a day. We have all kinds of fruit here - oranges, bananas, and apples. That's what I eat in the afternoon. It satisfies me. I exercise when I get up in the morning for about 10 minutes. You'd be surprised how good it makes you feel," Walter said.

The world's oldest living woman now lives in Japan, and America's oldest person Neva Morris, lives in Iowa. Morris is just over a year older than Walter.
