A U.S. senate panel approves $150,000 to establish a loan fund in Whitehall for ongoing recovery from a massive 2009 fire that destroyed several buildings in the business district.

U.S. Senators Jon Tester and Max Baucus made the announcement today saying the legislation would help establish a revolving loan fund for the Jefferson Local Development Corporation to grow small businesses.

The legislation must first pass the full Senate and the U.S. House before the funding can be signed into law.
