The Montana Folk Festival banner was raised across Main Street in Butte Thursday morning, starting off a week of set-up for the big event.
"From now on it's long days and a lot of work to get the stages setup," said George Everett, director of the Montana Folk Festival. "Crews will be working on this to everything put together and ready to go."
The dance stage will be the first stage constructed. It will be placed on East Park Street along with a full dance floor and a tent to cover it.
The festival will feature a hula group from San Francisco. Hula has not been featured in the festival since 2008, according to Everett.
For the first time ever the festival will showcase a Taiko drum performance.
"That's an amazing thing to see and experience," Everett said. "We hope people get as excited as we are."
The festival begins July 13-15 in Uptown Butte. You may visit www.montanafolkfestival.com for more information.
