They almost blew it, but the University of Montana Grizzlies were victorious over Northern Colorado at the Dee Events Center in Ogden, Utah Tuesday evening.

With 24 seconds left the Griz were up by one point with two seconds on the shot clock when Will Cherry takes the shot. Most freshmen wouldn't even try that, but he's the real deal, bumping the score to 66-63.

With just over 10 seconds left it's Anthony Johnson with the steal. He is fouled on the other end of the court. He made both free throws, finishing with 19 points.

Montana wins 68-63 over the Bears.

The Griz will move on to the conference championship game and while this one got very close near the end, and the Bears closed a 14 point UM lead.

Montana guard Anthony Johnson, a senior, says he never had a doubt about it.

"When they made that run, I didn't even wink. I knew that I had faith in my team. I knew we were going to win the game. I knew we were going to make the plays down the stretch, and that's all I said. And the guys bought into it. They rallied around and we made the plays and came out on top," Johnson said.

Now the Grizzlies will play top seeded Weber State at 7 p.m. Wednesday on ESPN 2 with the Big Sky Championship and a guaranteed spot in the field of 64 on the line.
