MISSOULA - The Griz were back home today for their final non-conference game of the season. After last week's tough road loss in North Carolina Montana came back in search of redemption today when they took on Liberty.

The game started scoreless in the first quarter until Peter Nguyen received the punt at the 10-yard line. With just the punter chasing Nguyen down, he returned it 90 yards for the touchdown. 7-0 Grizzlies.

In the second quarter, Liberty was looking to respond. A swing pass went to Pat Kelly but he got stripped and John Kanongata'a pounced on the loose ball. Montana took over on the 30, and they would waste no time. The very next play the handoff went to Dan Moore who ran into the endzone untouched and the Griz go on top 14-0.

Later in the 2nd, Liberty's Josh Woodrum got picked off by Jordan Tripp and the Missoula native took this one all the way back to the 5 yard line.

One play later, Trent McKinney rolled out to his right, pumped fakes and took off for the corner of the endzone. He received some punishment but it is a touchdown none the less. Montana would go up 24-0 at the half and McKinney would be fine.

In the 4th, McKinney on the play action hit Greg Hardy the tight end for the easy pitch and catch.

Big Sky opener next week for homecoming against Northern Arizona.
