Musician Maestro Hector Olivera will perform in Butte.
Olivera will perform his interpretations of classical and popular music at the Mother Lode Theatre on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 8 p.m.
According to a news release, "Hector Olivera began playing the pipe organ when he was three. At the age of five he played for the legendary Eva Perón; at 12 he entered the University of Buenos Aires and by 18 had performed for heads of state and celebrities throughout Latin America. Olivera received a scholarship to Juilliard School of Music in New York, prompting his move to the United States and in 1968 he won the American Guild of Organist's National Improvisation Contest, launching his solo career. He performs worldwide in solo performances and as guest soloist with prominent symphony orchestras. Inspired by his love for the French pipe organ Olivera recently designed an organ, the ‘Rodgers Trillium Masterpiece,' for the purpose of touring. Olivera continues to thrill audiences with his live and more than 20 commercial CDs of classical literature, orchestral transcriptions, and film scores in addition to his recently released DVD."
