A newly painted Horizon airplane sporting Bobcat blue and gold made its inaugural landing at the Gallatin Field Airport Tuesday afternoon.
Horizon Air painted the airplane, a Q400 that was scheduled for repainting, in Montana State University colors. The new look is being provided at no cost to the university or additional painting cost to Horizon.
Alumni, MSU faculty and others who gathered at Gallatin Field Airport to welcome the plane may have been surprised to find the MSU men's basketball team on board. The team was coming back from Seattle.
MSU students, faculty, staff, alumni and fans were invited to an unveiling at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Gallatin Field Airport. The plane was scheduled to land at 3:03 p.m. but was just a few minutes late, touching down at 3:15 p.m.
President Waded Cruzado was at the airport this afternoon and noted that the plane help get MSU's name out there. Other Horizon planes were painted this year with the colors of Idaho State and the University of Montana.
Tune in at 5:30 p.m. for more.
