KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) - The Kalispell planning board is recommending the city council ban medical marijuana production, processing and sales in the city limits.

The board on Tuesday called for the city to follow federal law, which says marijuana is an illegal drug.

Three medical marijuana outlets were operating in Kalispell before the city council enacted a 90-day moratorium while it considered zoning regulations.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder announced in November that the U.S. Justice Department would not enforce federal marijuana laws in states which have passed medical marijuana laws.
