The last time the Montana State University women met up with the Lady Griz they were in the middle of a sub-500 season, but the past few weeks have been a different story entirely for the Bobcats.

The women have won the last five out of six, coming down the home stretch and now sit just a half game back out of second place. They also sit one game out of sixth place.

There's a major logjam in the middle of the women's league this season with four teams including, Montana State, fighting for the last few playoff spots.

The Cats need to beat both Montana and Northern Colorado these next two weeks to send them to the postseason, or they can just hope for a UNC loss this weekend.

But Montana State wants to take matters into their own hands.

"Every game is important, especially because Missoula's ahead of us, so getting a loss on their record is important," Bobcats guard Lyndi Siedensticket said.

"They're fully aware of which teams have dropped out, also that every game is crucial. Our focus is taking care of business. We don't want to rely on what everyone else is doing. Obviously, if other teams lose and we win, that'd be great.  Right now, I want to make sure we're guaranteed a playoff berth," Bobcats head coach Tricia Binford said.

If you can't make to Missoula for this weekend's game, Montana's News Station will be broadcasting both the men's and women's matchups.

The women start up at 2 p.m. Saturday. The men take the court at 7 p.m. Saturday.
