It's library card sign up month, and new this year if you have a library card you also have access to local museums and concerts.

The Butte-Silver Bow Public Library has a new program that with a library card you can also check out free passes to places like the World Museum of Mining and Mother Lode Theater in Butte. The library is also teaming up with schools as part of the A+ Partners in Education Initiative.

The library is holding library card drives in the middle and elementary schools this month. The grade with the most library card applicants in each school gets a pizza party. The students will learn the library card is the smartest card because of the books, music, and more it gives you access to.

"Another great thing we have we offer online access through computer terminals at the library and there's also wireless access and a whole slew of online databases and online resources that anyone with a library card can access through our website so in a way we have an online branch that's open 24 hours a day seven days a week," said Regan deVictoria, Young Adult Services Librarian at the Butte Silver Bow Public Library.
