A local homeless man has been arrested and charged with selling drugs at a Butte casino

Rodney Van Hoyt, 47, was arrested early Wednesday morning following a report of a man selling pharmaceuticals at a Town Pump casino next to the Civic Center on Harrison Avenue.

Van Hoyt admitted to police that he was selling prescription drugs, Butte-Silver Bow Sheriff John Walsh said. He reportedly handed over a bag containing 11 pills that appeared to be Clonazepam, commonly known under the trade name of Klonopin, and a bottle of cough syrup with codeine.

Police also reportedly found a film canister containing six papers with meth folded inside at the Butte Detention Center.
