MISSOULA - A Missoula man is charged for a July drunken driving crash near Frenchtown and took the life of his friend.
Marcus Stephen Sickles, 21, is facing a vehicular homicide while under the influence charge.
The Montana Highway Patrol troopers say Sickles was heading east on Interstate 90 when he lost control on a curve and overcorrected. His pickup rolled several times and ended up on its roof in the westbound lanes.
Sickless was thrown from the car and taken to the hospital, but his friend, Derek Ross Nelson, 22, died on the scene.
Prosecutors say the women who witnessed the crash told investigators Nelson was hanging out of the passenger window gesturing at them and shortly after that the two men rolled their pickup.
Investigators say Sickles' blood alcohol content was at .287, which is more than three times the legal limit.
Prosecutors say the two men were seen drinking at several locations the night of the crash.
