Missoula mayor wears Bobcat colors to fulfill wager

For last year's Cat/Griz football game Bozeman Mayor Jeff Krauss and Missoula Mayor John Engen made a little bet - the losing team's mayor had to wear the other side's colors and post proof on the internet.

Mayor Engen has paid up.

"I think he thought it was a pretty safe bet," Krauss said before a satisfied cackle.

"As the mayor's counsel, I will not allow him to talk on the record about what he's wearing," says City Attorney Jim Nugent in the video posted online, showing Engen dressed fully in Bobcat apparel and wearing a "Go Cats" foam finger.

Krauss said Engen seemed eager to make the bet. The game was held in Missoula and the Griz had been the dominant team for some time. But as statewide football fans know, the Cats pulled out a 21 to 16 victory.

"Mayor Engen with this video today is fulfilling his obligation. The mayor has one personal message for Mayor Krauss, next year, Mayor Krauss...prepare to be a bear," Nugent says in the video.

"I think when they come down here we're gonna serve them another big plate of defeat," Krauss said. "I look forward to seeing John in the blue and gold for one more year."

Krauss said he hopes to make this a yearly tradition between mayor's of the two cities.
