The First Lady of Montana stopped in Butte to smell the roses at a visit to the Whittier Wildcat Garden at Whittier Elementary School.

Students held a harvest party and gave the First Lady a tour of the garden. They showed her all the fruits and vegetables they've been growing and let her have a taste of some as well.

Nancy Schweitzer says growing gardens like these is a great way to get kids outdoors and learning. She adds that it helps them make better food choices and the kids agree.

The kids say they sell what they grow in the garden at the Butte Farmers Market.
