A New Mexico man faces a felony charge of assault with a weapon stemming from an incident at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort.

Robert Rainville, 29, of Albuquerque was taken into custody Saturday morning.

Police responded to a report of a man with a gun, Butte-Silver Bow Sheriff John Walsh said. When they arrived, a guest reported Rainville made a threatening statement to him while holding a gun in his hand.  Police reportedly later found two handguns in Rainville's room and a rifle in his vehicle.

He was staying at the resort with his wife and child.
