Rasmussen Reports Survey of 1,000 American Adults


• 33% say they've paid their income taxes already with two months to go until the deadline, marking an increase in early filers from last year's 29% and 2010's 30%.

• 88% expect to file their taxes by the April 15 deadline, same as last year but down from 94% in 2010, while 7% will seek an extension, and 5% more are undecided.

• 43% think they will get a refund this year, 17% predict they will owe the government money, 31% believe they'll break even, and 9% aren't sure what will happen.

• 61% of those who expect a refund have filed their taxes already.

Investor Confidence Drops Seven Points on Wednesday

Rasmussen Reports Survey of 1,500 American Adults

• The Rasmussen Consumer Index slipped two points on Wednesday to 88.7, up two points from a week ago, little changed from a month ago and up 23 points from three months ago.

• The Rasmussen Investor Index dropped seven points on Wednesday to 97.9 after reaching its highest level in over a year yesterday.

• Investor confidence is down two points from a week ago and five points from a month ago, but it's up and 26 points from three months ago.

• 23% of consumers say their own personal finances are getting better these days, while 46% say they are getting worse.

• Investors are only a bit more optimistic: 28% say their finances are improving while 42% say the opposite.
