A haze filled the skies over Montana this afternoon and the smell of smoke was prevalent throughout the area.
Numerous wildfires are burning in the West with large plumes of smoke spreading out over the region.
Right now, several large fires burning in Wyoming and Idaho are to blame for the smoke.
Southwesterly winds aloft brought in the smoke early Wednesday.
Satellite analysis shows a wide area of smoke settling in over Montana, Idaho and Wyoming.
