Snow levels are dropping down close to 5,500' this morning with snow in Butte!

The snow is not sticking too much and should melt off by this afternoon. Looking at MDOT cameras, there is accumulating snow developing on Big Hole Pass, Lost Trail Pass, Elk Park and over Homestake Pass this morning.

One to two inches of snow is possible for Butte, however, as temperatures warm up later this afternoon, thunderstorms could form. Now that is a crazy weather pattern!

All of SW Montana has the potential to see .25" to 1" of rain today into this evening and that will continue a serious flood threat to area streams and larger rivers. Flood Warnings are up until further notice with the Big Hole River, Jefferson River, Gallatin River and Missouri River most susceptible to moderate to major flooding over the next 3 to 5 days.

I'll have an updated Flood Watch Forecast coming up later this afternoon once I step into the Storm Tracker Weather Center. Until then, if anyone has pictures of the snow please send them our way via email as attached jpg's to: photo@kxlf.com or photo@kbzk.com.
