Supercomputing facility hosts Fuhrlander

Officals from the German wind turbine manufacturer Fuhrlander are wrapping up their trip to the city of Butte, but not before another round of presentations and meetings.

Earlier this morning at the Rocky Mountain Supercomputing facility, represenatives from both Fuhrlander and the Governor's Office of Economic Development were on hand for a presentation of the capabilties of the supercomputer and how the data it can gather applies to wind forecasting and wind plant efficiency

Fuhrlander, a German-based manufacturer of high-end wind turbines and wind harnessing components, have been looking to expand operations by entering the U.S market. They toured a proposed site in Butte on Thursday which would employ 150 to 200 employees. During the trip, founder and Chairman of Fuhrlander A.G., Joachim Fuhrlander reaffirmed his committment to make Butte the site of their first manufacturing plant in the United States.

Fuhrlander executives are scheduled to wrap up their day and their visit to the Mining City with a series of private meetings with Montana based companies in the midst of wind energy projects.
