University of Montana Western's Chancellor announces retirement

University of Montana Western Chancellor, Richard Storey has announced he will retire from the institution in August.

Storey presided over Western's innovative scheduling program where students take one class at a time. During his tenure Western's enrollment has increased 34 percent.

Storey came to Montana Western in July 2004 after serving as Dean of the college and faculty at Colorado College.
He holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Botany and Plant Physiology from the University of Oklahoma.

University of Montana President, Royce Engstrom, said plans for hiring his replacement will be announced within the next month.
