Butte police are investigating more than a dozen reports of theft, vandalism and criminal mischief involving a neighborhood in the Country Club area.
Butte-Silver Bow Police Captain George Skuletich says a newspaper carrier alerted police to the area this morning.
The first report called into dispatch just before 5 a.m. with the caller describing items scattered across Redwood Drive. Skuletich says it appears as if several vehicles and mailboxes were entered and rifled through with items either stolen or dumped on the streets.
Police responded to reports called in from residents on Fleecer, Cedar Lake, Bittersweet, Pintler Lane, Redwood and Rampart. The incidents occurred sometime between midnight and 6 a.m. today.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 497-1120 or Crimestoppers at 782-7336. Callers may be eligible for a cash reward.
