A Whitehall man was arrested for intent to distribute marijuana following a traffic stop in Gallatin County.

David Liddick, 30, was stopped Tuesday on Interstate 90 between mileposts 290 and 291 where it was traveling 84 miles per hour in a 75 mile per hour zone, according to court documents.

A Montana Highway Patrol officer said he detected a strong odor of marijuana in Liddick's SUV. Liddick reportedly told the officer he had 12 ounces of marijuana and 40 grams of hashish but did not have his "medicinal care giver identification" with him.

Liddick was charged with criminal possession with intent to distribute, a felony.
