Would-be robber has change of heart at Montana Papa John's, given free pizza and wings

HELENA - A man who intended to rob a Papa John's Pizza store on Monday had a change of heart and, instead, walked away with a free pizza and hot wings.

According to Helena police, the man entered the store around midnight near closing time and gave the cashier a note to hand over money. But, as the person opened the till, the man started crying and said the only reason he was robbing the store was to feed his wife and kids.

The clerk talked the man out of taking the money and offered to make him a pizza and some wings.

After getting his pizza, the man walked away, heading east on Prospect Avenue.

Police would like to talk to the man, but say they don't know if any charges will be filed.
