A veritable cornucopia of controlled substances were seized over the Thanksgiving holiday by Wyoming Highway Patrol Troopers on Interstate 80.
In four separate traffic stops on I-80 from Nov. 23-29, 233 pounds of marijuana was confiscated.
The first stop was on November 23rd and resulted in one arrest and 72 pounds of marijuana seized (see photo).
The stop occurred at 4:40 p.m. on Interstate 80 eastbound near mile post 107 just east of the Rock Springs, Wyoming city limits.
With the assistance of the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Christopher P. McGinley, a 31-year-old resident of Old Bridge, New Jersey, was arrested and taken to the Sweetwater County Detention Center in Rock Springs.
He has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
It is believed the marijuana originated out of California and was destined for New Jersey.
