Weather pattern changes coming Thursday into Friday and more wintry travel impacts especially for mountain passes. Snowfall forecast is 5" to 8" above 6,500' Thursday night but by early Friday morning snow levels could fall down to 5,000'.
Mountain passes above 6,000' will likely see the biggest impacts and they include: Big Hole Pass, Elk Park, Georgetown Lake, Homestake Pass, MacDonald Pass, Raynold Pass and Monida Pass. All other passes including Bozeman Pass and Norris Hill will likely see snow in the 2" - 4" range.
As of Wednesday night at 8 pm the National Weather Service has not issued any winter weather highlights but look for possible Winter Weather Advisories to be issued Thursday morning.
Please allow extra travel time Thursday night into Friday morning especially if traveling over mountain passes in SW Montana.
