Less than two years after opening its new hospital, Livingston Healthcare is suing the city of Livingston.
According to the complaint filed in Park County District court Thursday afternoon, Livingston healthcare claims the City is guilty of negligence and coercion to name a few.
The hospital claims that during the planning stages of the new facility, the City approved certain infrastructure improvements that needed to be done in order to build the hospital.
Livingston Healthcare fixed a price and got a loan based on those needs. Then, the hospital claims, the City demanded more improvements, driving up the costs of the project and they claim the city benefited from the extra work required.
Livingston Healthcare issued this written statement from its CEO Bren Lowe; "This situation is unfortunate, as Livingston HealthCare seeks to have a collaborative relationship with all community partners. Livingston HealthCare felt this action must be taken to protect essential and limited resources used to improve our community’s health."
