Filing for candidates looking to run for office in the November election opened Thursday. With that came city commissioner Chris Mehl’s announcement that he will be running for the mayor of Bozeman.
Mehl who has served as a city commissioner for two terms says his platform is three-fold. He hopes to continue growing the city, wants to create tax fairness between residents and tourists, and enhance communication between citizens and city government.
“I really enjoy the community and the public service, but most importantly Bozeman is a great community and I want to keep it that way.” Said Mehl.
If Mehl is elected mayor, he will serve a four year term, with two of those years being deputy mayor, and then the final two years as mayor.
