Trial date set for teens accused of starting Roaring Lion fire

HAMILTON -

A trial date has been set for four teenagers accused of starting the Roaring Lion Fire near Hamilton last summer.

Cody Knez, Steven Banks and Tyler Johnson each face a misdemeanor negligent arson charge as well as a charge of felony negligent arson. 

A fourth person, also accused, is a minor and remains unidentified.

The group is accused of leaving a campfire unattended leading to the devastating 8,500 acre blaze that destroyed 16 homes

Prosecutors estimate the cost to fight the fire topped $9 million.

The trail date has been set for September 11.
