Evacuation orders remain in place near Sunrise fire

SUPERIOR -

Evacuation orders for folks living near the 18,600 acres Sunrise fire remain in effect as the blaze continues to burn 11 miles southeast of Superior.

Trout Creek Road from Magone Ranch  southwest through the fire area remain in Stage III evacuation as do the Quartz Creek, Cougar Gulch and Verde Creek ares. Residents are advised to leave their homes immediately.

Meanwhile, the Riverbend, Sunrise and Quartz Flat ares -- as well as residents along Diamond Match Road from the overpass and junction with Forest Road 7798 to the Magone Ranch.

Crews are continuing to monitor the south edge of the fire as it progresses slowly toward the upper Quartz Creek Road.

A fire information hotline is available at (406) 822-9084 and is manned daily fro, 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. A shelter is also available at Superior High School.

There are 515 battling the lightning sparked blaze.
