The Crucifixion Creek, Strawberry Creek, and Scalp fires continue to grow in the northern part of the state.

The three fires are managed by a Type-3 Incident Management Team working with limited ground and aerial resources due to other fires in the state.

The Crucifixion Creek Fire is approximately 10 miles southwest of Heart Butte in the Badger-Two Medicine area.

The fire has burned 8,191 acres as of Saturday. Although growth has been minimal, aviation resources have been unable to fly due to high winds and worsened visibility.

A new fire crew arrived at the Badger Cabin on Saturday.

The Strawberry Creek Fire is one mile from Swift Dam in the Bob Marshall Wilderness.

The fire was affected by wind on Sunday and is now up the west side of Mount Richmond.

Five dozers and three engines are headed to Swift Dam and preplanned management actions are being coordinated with Pondera and Teton County Sheriffs, the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

The Strawberry Creek fire is an estimated 1,554 acres.

The Scalp Fire is located seven miles west of the Teton Pass Ski Area and is backing in a fire perimeter area from 2007.

The fire is moving towards Open Creek with some spotting north of Seven-Up Creek.

Crews are focusing on structure protection at the Gooseberry Cabin and Wrong Creek.

The fire is 11,741 acres.
