Parade of Lights illuminates the Electric City

Posted: 11/25/2017 20:26:00 -07:00 Updated:

An annual holiday tradition continued in Great Falls on Saturday evening as Santa Claus made his 2017 visit to the Electric City.

He brought in the Christmas season by lighting up the Christmas tree at the Civic Center in downtown Great Falls to end the 23rd Parade of Lights.

Thousands of area residents flooded Central Avenue for the Parade, which featured a variety of floats with everything from minions to snowmen.

The holiday festivities continue next weekend with the 34th annual Christmas Stroll on Friday, December 1st.

The free event runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. along Central Avenue from the Civic Center to about 8th Street. There will be music, food and gift vendors, and more.

The theme for this year's Christmas Stroll button is "Light up the Season." Stroll buttons are for sale for $5 at the following locations:

Amazing Toys, Belle's & Lace Bridal, Bert & Ernies, Blue Rose, Brush Crazy, Candy Masterpiece, City Bar, Dragonfly Dry Goods, Feather Your Nest, First Interstate Bank - Downtown location only, Gallery 16, Kaufman's, Mighty Mo Brewing Co., Motifs, MT Mosaics, My Viola, Pizazz, Signature MT, World of Time.
