Two people have been arrested for the murder of a man whose body was found decapitated last month in a secluded area in West Billings.
Donald Ray Cherry, 31 years old, and Jeffrey Glen Haverty, 33, face charges for the murder of Myron Wesley Knight, 41.
The two men, who were identified by police on Friday, are expected to make their initial court appearances on Monday.
Knight’s body was found on November 15 near the intersection of South 32nd Street West and Gabel Road.
Two people walking in the area discovered the body, which was partially covered, according to Billings Police Captain Jeremy House.
Ty Nelson said he and his friend, Dustin Lapp, were out following tracks as they were trapping, and also looking for items that may have been stolen from his truck recently.
They were looking around, picked up a piece of carpet, and saw the body.
An autopsy revealed Knight died from blunt force trauma.
Court documents had not been filed as of Friday, so it’s not yet known what events led to the murder.
The Yellowstone County Detention Center lists both Cherry and Haverty as being held on charges of deliberate homicide, with no bond amount set.
