Strengthening Valley Inversions This Week Butte

Posted: Updated:

High pressure is slowly building over the Western U.S. and into Western Montana today.

Overall this pattern will bring dryer and warmer weather over the next couple of weeks, however, under a stable sinking pattern will come stronger valley inversions. This could trap colder air at the surface for Butte and watch for valley fog to form around the Berkeley Pit.

In the above on demand STORMTracker video forecast Chief Meteorologist Mike Heard will walk you through the short term forecast and be sure to catch the 5:30 pm or 10 pm news tonight on KXLF for updates on the 7 to 10 day forecasts.
