BOZEMAN - Montana State University set a spring enrollment record of 15,496 students and marks the 10th year of consecutive growth for the spring semester.
Enrollment numbers are not only up from last fall, but also last spring where the university is 300 students stronger than last year at this time.
These record numbers present a number of benefits and challenges for the university’s future.
“Of course a benefit is that more students get a chance for some of the life-altering higher education available at MSU,” said Michael Becker, MSU News Director. “The cons are obviously we have to cope with the growing number of students. We’re finding ways to do that every year that we set enrollment records.”
To accommodate the growing number of students, MSU plans to construct a new residence hall on College St. that will house 480 students.
