West Yellowstone Snowmobile Expo brings out locals and fans nationwide

Posted: Updated:

BOZEMAN - The second day of the West Yellowstone Snowmobile Expo featured racing, demos, and a vintage snowmobile expo.

People from all over the state and country came to find out what this event is all about. Gillette, Wyoming resident Tom Kostreba has been coming to this event for over fifty years. He says he keeps coming back because of the memories he walks away with.

“The camaraderie with all the racers, the fun, and the challenge,” said Kostreba.

The expo had events going on all day long including a demo of the latest snowmobiles for people to ride.

Bozeman citizen, Tobe Dempsey, loved that he got to see snowmobiles from all different generations on display.

“It takes me back to my days when I was a kid just getting started, and I really enjoy the energy people have put into persevering this,” said Dempsey.

Vintage Show Director, David Brummer, said this event is extremely important to Montana because West Yellowstone usually isn’t very busy during this time of year.

“That’s one reason why the expo is here. To help keep the draw of people coming to West Yellowstone, which has been a mecca for snowmobiling for fifty years,” said Brummer.

The expo will continue Sunday with more demos and snow bike racing.
