Cool Weekend Forecast For Butte & SW Montana

Posted: Updated:

Weather pattern is settling down now as a strong pacific storm is passing out of Montana. In this storm's wake came widespread heavy wet snow and many mountain ranges saw over a foot of snow.

The above on demand STORMTracker video forecast will walk you through the weekend hour by hour with Chief Meteorologist Mike Heard.

The Bridge Range near Bozeman picked up 30" of heavy wet snow according to the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche center. This heavy snow loading has increased the avalanche danger on all slopes. So GNFAC issued an AVALANCHE WARNING for Bridger Range Friday into Saturday. Natural and human triggered avalanches are likely so avoid avalanche terrain and avalanche runout zones.
