BILLINGS - School District 2 Board of Trustees agreed to select Ross Kasun as its next superintendent.
Kasun has worked as the superintendent of the Freehold Township School District in New Jersey since 2011.
He started in 1995 as a teacher in Summit, New Jersey.
Board of Trustees wrapped up three days of interviews with the three finalists. On Saturday, trustees mulled over the options of Greg Upham of Helena, Rebecca Salato of California, and Kasun.
Trustees voted to select Kasun in a 5 to 2 vote. Upham was selected as an alternate if negotiations with Kasun fail.
If a contract is successfully negotiated, Kasun will take over for Terry Bouck who is set to retire from the position of SD2 Superintendent in May.
