Public forum set to discuss Montana Tech name change

Posted: Updated:

BUTTE - Montana Tech has decided to change its formal name and now they want to hear from the public.

The Butte university will hold the forum on Wednesday to explain its decision to change the name formally to Montana Technological University. The public is invited to attend, ask questions, and make comments about the change.

“We've discussed this and vetted this with all our constituents and kind of the last step is to have an open forum for anybody to come and tell us what they think of what we're recommending. As a public institution we owe it to the public to offer that opportunity,” said Dan Trudnowski, who is the Dean of School of Mines and Engineering.

The forum begins at 6 p.m. at the Copper Lounge in the student union.
