BUTTE, Mont. – Butte police announced Tuesday evening that an arrest has been made in connection with a threatening email against a local school.

Butte Sheriff Ed Lester said police arrested a juvenile from Butte who is accused of sending a threatening email to Butte Central Elementary that forced the school’s lockdown on Monday and closure Tuesday.

The child faces charges of criminal incitement and disorderly conduct. The sheriff said school officials have been notified and there is no further threat to students.

The arrest came after an investigation from the department’s Internet Crimes Against Children officer.
