BOZEMAN - Another round of severe thunderstorms will impact SW Montana Sunday afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH for SW Montana east of the divide through 7 pm Sunday evening. This means there is a good chance for damaging thunderstorms with large hail and wind gusts to or over 60 mph. Brief heavy rain and frequent lightning will also impact our region.

Several severe thunderstorm warnings have been issued by 2 pm Sunday near Dillon and earlier near Butte. The atmosphere is highly unstable and this is a dangerous weather pattern if you are caught outdoors. When thunderstorms hit your area seek shelter immediately. Watch for flash flooding if heavy rain develops and avoid runoff areas.

Try and move your vehicles in a garage or covered area if possible. Bring your animals into a sheltered area if possible.

Monitor the severe weather on the KBZK and KXLF STORMTracker Weather mobile app.
