Highway 89 from Choteau to Browning will be closed until Monday due to severe winds and ground blizzard conditions.
According to the Blackfeet Tribe Disaster and Emergency Services, all routes and cut across roads on the southern part of the reservation are also closed at this time.
The United Methodist Church with the assistance of the American Red Cross has provided an emergency shelter at the United Methodist Church’s annex. For help or more information, call (406) 338-3900.
The Blackfeet Tribe Disaster and Emergency Services stated that snow is packing and making it difficult for plows to work where people are stuck.
Additional road closures include Highway 89 from Browning to St. Mary and Highway 464 from Browning to Babb.
Officials are asking people to not drive through the drifts especially in remote areas.
